Success in Art Martial sports Is not Just about talent.

Success in combat sports is not just about talent. Many talented fighters don’t make it to the top for several reasons: 1. Mindset and Discipline Talent alone is not enough if the mentality isn’t strong. Success requires extreme discipline, a strong work ethic, and the ability to overcome losses and injuries. Many fighters quit along the way due to a lack of motivation or resilience. 2. Career Management and Opportunities Some fighters don’t have good managers or don’t know how to manage their careers properly. Without the right team, they can miss out on opportunities, sign bad contracts, or lack proper guidance to progress. 3. Lack of Financial Support Combat sports don’t pay much in the early stages. Training full-time is expensive (coaching, nutrition, medical care, travel, etc.). Many fighters quit because they can’t afford to continue. 4. Injuries A serious injury can end a promising career. Even the most talented fighter can be stopped by recurring injuries. 5. Bad Li...

Motivation

just when I think I'm a martial artist, do I see things that say otherwise. Like the guys, with all the fancy gym outfits, who throw those ridiculously slow kicks onto the heavy punching bag. Before handing your head over to you in a match or brawl, please: 1. Keep your hands up. A good boxer or puncher can step inside of your kick and knock you o-u-t out, when you drop your hands. 2. Kick a lighter bag around 40 pounds. Something with give. I was constantly going to a chiropractor when training heavy and, 30 years later, I still get hip problems. 3. Work the bag, do not let the bag work you. Kick and punch to develop your hitting power. Do not just keep hitting the heavy bag until exhaustion. You will just get sloppy. 4. If your coach is not watching you, try not to train to exhaustion. When you get too tired. You get sloppy. Sloppy practice makes sloppy technique. While you have to be able to train while under stress or fatigue, make sure that you are not making sloppy mista...

AGHAA                                    When Cassius Clay aka Mohamed Ali passed away earlier this year, the world lost a great sportsman and a champion for human rights. Not many of the current generation may have heard of this great athlete who rose from very humble beginnings to conquer the world of Boxing and remained a huge favorite with many of the earlier generation even as a debilitating illness kept him away from public view for many years. The sport of Boxing is a blend of combat and martial art where two opponents use techniques to aim punches at each other to win the bout. Protective gloves and headgear is part of modern-day boxing, which is a highly popular event in many countries, with competition going up all the way to the Olympic level. Like many other combat spor...

The Psychology of Boxers

Image
For centuries, boxing has primarily been viewed as a physical and testosterone filled sport. A sport where physical strength and ruthless egos drive a match and fill seats in an arena. While the brutality of the sport may be what attracts fans, it is the psychology of the sport that truly depicts a great boxer. The mental stamina and toughness of any given boxer can make or break how successful they are on any given day. In the boxing world, this is called, "mind management." Mind management consists of four different areas that help a boxer take control of a match and perfect his overall ability to perform: Calmness under pressure, a ruthless sense of focus, mental toughness and lack of self-blame when things go wrong (Harland). In order to be a successful boxer, it is very important to possess all four of these trai...
